Sopore, Sep 07 (KNO): Six councillors in Sopore tendered their resignation to the director Urban Local Bodies alleging proper protocol was not followed during the inauguration of Municipal Complex. The councillors who was per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), submitted their resignation include Irfan Ali of ward 14, Javeed Ahmed Bhat of ward 03, Abdul Ahad Malla of ward 17, Mushtaq Ahmed Changa of ward 20, Saima Begum of ward 01 and Abida Begum of ward 04. “We were humiliated and stopped by the security men as we were not having the passes from the district administration,” they said. “We are elected representatives and are representing the people. It is unacceptable, the administration can't disrespect us like this,” they said at a presser. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, S A Raina denied the allegations levelled by councillors saying standard protocol was followed. On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Sopore and inaugurated the multiple developmental projects. Everybody including the councillors were taken into confidence and were invited. Allowing anyone inside the event is being done by security and the administration is nobody to comment over the matter,” the ADC said. He said they will still look into the issue and sort it out—(KNO)
